We are an O‘ahu-based artist-run event aimed at creating a space for creators of all experience levels to share their comics, zines, and/or other self-published works in a cozy & fun setting for all ages!
Our inaugural was in April 2025 at the Liliha Public Library and saw 350+ attendees walk thru the door. We welcomed 16 local Hawai‘i artists to share their work and hosted a free zine-making workshop!
TBD.
Although our event is held at the library, we expect the noise in our event room to reach levels that those prone to overstimulation may find uncomfortable. We suggest bringing headphones, earplugs, or your own sensory-dampening tool of choice.
We also recommend taking breaks to step out into the rest of the library, which will be much quieter and less crowded (McCully-Mōʻiliʻili has a robust manga & graphic novel collection!)
Yes! We highly encourage zine trading for our attendees and vendors. Trading is an essential part of zine culture which is rooted in the desire to build community and to engage in the free exchange of art and information. It's optional, but we love to see it!
Vendor applications are currently closed.
Pocketbook aims to bring the focus on creators' work and host a space accessible to both beginner & veteran creators alike. Therefore, we encourage you to forgo elaborate merchandising displays, and just bring yourself and your creations!
Tables are provided & shared with another vending partner. Each vendor will have half a table, or roughly 3ft x 2ft—pocket sized! Chairs are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Cost is $50 for a half table. Payment is due upon acceptance confirmation.
Booth splitting is not allowed. This is just due to the nature of the pocket-sized booths. However, collectives are welcome to apply and have 1 representative sit in.

Self-published works are the focus. We welcome the addition of other DIY creations such as stickers, prints, buttons, ceramics, etc. However, the majority of your items should be self-published work. It's what this market is all about!
